The
designated area contains a beach of about 20 kilometers
in length! In the centre of Saquarema the whole area is
almost completely built on but on the edges it is more open. Open land
with original vegetation is already very rare and partly protected by
the environmental authorities.
Saquarema is the centre of
administration. Here you will find the town hall and the
famous church on the hill overlooking the sea. Here are the town
beaches with a lot of small beach bars and restaurants but not all are
open all year round. Also in Saquarema festive and musical events take
place and alongside these you will find the market stalls in the
central square.
